Large walk-in tubs can be 30 to +35 inches wide, 55 to +60 inches long and 36 to +41 inches tall with a weight capacity of 200 to 400lbs. These are more useful to those heavier, larger, or taller users that need the extra room. With seats that are 20 to +30 inches wide, these larger walk-in tubs provide comfort and more maneuverability. Deep soaker tubs, for example, give taller folks more bathtub depth and can submerge themselves in the water with ease while wider and longer models give more space horizontally for bariatric patients to enjoy their bath.
Slide-in Tubs
Walk-in tubs for wheelchair accessibility are called slide-in bathtubs because they allow for minimal effort on the part of the user upon entry/exit of the tub. These models can be compact but they have a thicker surface to accommodate extra weight capacities, and the doors themselves are wider, which means they have to be thicker to withstand the extra water pressure because of their larger surface area, keeping your bathroom floor dry and you safe.
